“As I continue to work in the Town Centre and Penketh/Sankey, I’m experiencing open doors and new opportunities every month.
I’ll be facilitating school trips with UTC, taking young people into the outdoors and building relationships out on walks in nature. On top of this, relationships in Warrington Youth Zone are stronger than ever, with one young person really wanting to dive into navigating her own faith. She has been relying heavily on the influence of social media, and we’ve been having great conversations to hopefully help guide her more in a faith she can also see first hand.
Over in West Warrington, Penketh High has burst open. Fresh after-school club has tripled in size! Every week we meet to explore faith and this month has been filled with amazing discussions about creation as we try to answer their big questions.
Next month, we’ll dive into the topic of Jesus – who He is and why we need Him. Jesus loves these young people and we’re praying they come to know Him over the coming weeks and months.
I’ve also had the opportunity to for 1-to-1 Bible studies which have resulted in a young person and their family going to church, surrounding themselves with a loving and supportive church family in their local area. On one Sunday alone, three young people attended churches in Warrington hearing the good news of Jesus.”
“The Friday night project has also had some fantastic breakthroughs chatting with the young people in between games of football. We’ve discussed the impact of social media on their lives and what kind of content they consume, encouraging them to seek out faith-based sport content online.
We believe Jesus meets us where we’re at – not just in a church or at an event, but in school, in mentoring sessions, and even during a game of football – so I’m excited to use this as a way to speak Jesus in their lives.”
