Stories from Kim Wellens and a Vlog from Cayley Weaver (Widnes Worker):
Stories from Fresh Christian Union:
“Since started back at school after the summer holidays, it has been so exciting to see young people grow in faith. In particular at Fresh Christian Union, where a group of 15-20 young people choose to stay after school on a Friday to get to know Jesus. Every week I am blown away by the commitment of these young people (yes, they choose to stay late on a Friday when they could go home and start their weekends). Nearly all of these young people have no church background, but they have big questions to ask and a desire to know more about God. We have been doing a series on what it means for the weak to be made strong in Jesus, knowing God’s presence and power in our weaknesses because of Jesus’ death and resurrection. Throughout this series, a few young people in particular have really engaged on a new and exciting level, sharing with us that they really do want to know what it means to follow Jesus. Following a session on being made strong by the Word of God and how to read the Bible, some have taken youth Bibles and are taking on a challenge to follow a daily reading plan, having an open mind and heart to what God may want to say to them through His Word. I am so excited and humbled at how Jesus is revealing himself to these young people every week, and I can’t wait to see them continue to grow on their journey of faith. ”
