“This month I attended my first Youth for Christ staff conference! I was so encouraged to meet people from across the country, all who share the same heart; to see young people’s lives changed by Jesus.

At the beginning of a new year, I can so often get carried away with my own ideas and agenda that I end up missing the main thing. One morning of the conference during a seminar led by Leon Evans, I was completely struck by something that he said – when you remember your why, your what will become more clear.

This was just a couple of days before leading a vision night for the growing youth work in Culcheth, and God used Leon’s words to challenge, inspire, and prepare my heart for the year ahead. I asked myself the question; am I more focused onwhat I am doing rather than why?

When I look at things from this muddled perspective, I can so easily become uncertain and unmotivated in the planning process, but when I remember why I’m doing what I’m doing – that my life has been changed by Jesus and I want to see that for others – then I really begin to walk in the purpose to which He has called me.”
