In 2017, local Warrington churches, the Chester and Liverpool Dioceses, and Warrington Youth for Christ teamed up run a church tent at Creamfields festival. Year after year, God has blessed this mission and we have seen it grow, now running two marquees on two campsites at the festival.
Every August bank holiday under the banner of ‘We are the Church’, people from dozens of churches come together ecumenically to show the love of Jesus at Creamfields festival. We do this by advertising to festival-goers that we are ‘here to listen’. We want to create a safe space at the festival for pastoral support and care – this includes free water and biscuits, a comfy place to sit, a warm blanket, and friendly conversation.
Hundreds of festival-goers are impacted by this ministry every year, and God’s love is shown day and night across the festival in really practical ways.
