That’s why we’ve set up a young leaders Academy. This is a group for any young person who wants to get involved, bring hope, and make a difference by getting involved in the ministry of Warrington Youth for Christ.

There are many Christian young people who want training and equipping in their calling. There are many young people we meet who are uninterested in church at the moment, but they are interested in Jesus. There are many others who don’t believe in God, but simply want something to belong to and be a part of.

Being in the Academy means…

  1. Getting involved in community projects. They will work more closely with the Youth for Christ worker in their area to bring a youth voice and young leadership to the project of which they’re a part – whether it be youth clubs, school clubs, detached projects, or even getting involved in the running of our social media.
  2. Personal development. Each young person in the Academy will have access to one-to-one mentoring with a youth worker if they wish. This can be a space to talk and receive support in their own wellbeing, as well as encouraged to develop in their own skills and interests. We will also run regular group sessions and training.
  3. Growing in faith. As a Christian charity, we have seen how exploring faith in an open, safe, and non-judgemental way can have a huge benefit to young people of all beliefs and none. We welcome young people from all backgrounds as we explore faith with sensitivity and openness, being completely relevant to young people in their own experiences and culture.
  4. Finally, the Academy will be social, and a lot of fun! We hope young people would make good friends here, being part of a like-minded and passionate team who want to make a difference. We will have trips out, socials, and we plan for an Academy residential in Spring 2023.
