When I first started around a year ago, I was stood in RS lessons (RE to the oldies like me), handing out green pens and rulers, generally assisting but for the most part just being a body in the room. Since then, my doors to opportunities in RS have swung open and I’ve been rushed off my feet!
In the space of three weeks I’ve delivered lessons on “A Christian Response to Atheism”, “The Christian View of the Afterlife, and then “The Difference between Crime and Sin” – all fantastic opportunities to truly explain the core of the Christian faith in different ways and to give the gospel in raw, unapologetic form. The openness to my brazenly preaching in class is astounding! Both with staff and students I’m seeing minds being changed and hearts becoming open right in front of my eyes.
All of this while we’ve been planning and hosting the November Schools Tour, where over 4000 young people were engaged with the gospel, over 900 Bibles were distributed, and where dozens of young people came to a concert amidst the driving wind and pouring rain, with 25 responding to the gospel appeal.
What a time to be doing evangelism in the UK! The doors are swinging wide open, and the schools aren’t just allowing the Kingdom in, they’re valuing it! Keep praying for us; that our access will not just continue, but expand. Let’s introduce every child in Warrington to the King of kings!
Keep the faith, help the young, stay awesome!
Jon
